As the world is craving for chocolates, Cacao Industry Development Association of Mindanao, Inc. in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agriculture, Lutheran World Relief and ACDI/VOCA gathered together all stakeholders in the cocoa industry around the world last September 15-17, 2016 at SMX Convention Center in Davao City, Philippines for the annual KakaoKonek 2016 – Asia Pacific Cocoa Conference.
KakaoKonek is the biggest annual event in the cacao industry in the Philippines where the cacao value chain players discuss pressing issues and prospects in the industry from the macro to the micro. Among the topics and issues to be tackled during the event include the increasing global demand for cocoa products and how the Philippines can fill the supply gap, how the farmers can access to credit and financing, product standards and certifications and significance of climate change to cacao farming.
